Levels of Play:
T-Ball (boys and girls ages 4 - 6)
This is a Saturday morning program designed for beginners. Your child will be taught basic baseball skills. Using a stationary ball on a “Tee” for hitting practice, he or she will begin to learn the fundamentals - catching, fielding and positions. Practice typically ends with a fun game.
Minor League (boys and girls ages 7 - 8)
This program is an introduction to full baseball play with a “softy” baseball. The children build on the skills learned in T-Ball and begin to learn to work as a team. The level of training is still based on the level of the child. This program involves a few informal scheduled games with neighboring towns. Practices typically occur two or three times weekly.
Little League (boys and girls ages 9 - 12)
This program consists of more formal, competitive play as the children continue to refine their skills and teamwork. The team consists of 13 players who are chosen on a “try-out” basis. Practices are typically 4 - 5 times weekly. The team plays in the Mid-County League traveling to towns such as Millerton, Pine Plains, Lakeville and Amenia.
Farm Little League (boys and girls ages 9 - 12)
This team consists of first year Little Leaguers and those players who do not make the Little League team.
Summer League Baseball (boys - ages 13 - 15 years)
This program involves a competitive regional team which is a travel team. Higher skill levels are refined and continued learning is attained in team play. This team typically begins practices after the middle and high school seasons have ended.
Connie Mack (boys - ages 15 - 16 years)
This program involves continued practice of higher level skills and teamwork. This is a competitive traveling team whose season starts after the high school season has ended, typically going into the summer months.
Junior Softball (girls - 3rd and 4th grade)
This program offers young ladies an alternative to baseball. Children will learn the rules of softball and how it differs from baseball. Levels of training are geared toward the level of the child. The children practice 1-2 times weekly and informal games are scheduled with neighboring towns.
Senior Softball (girls - 5th and 6th grade)
This program offers young ladies the opportunity for continued acquisition and refinement of softball skills and teamwork, on a travel team within the Northwest Corner. Level of training continues to occur at the level of the child.
