Future Planning

The Sharon Board of Recreation and Youth is a volunteer board made up of town residents striving to enhance the quality of living for all residents.

In the course of conducting regular business, the Board does attempt to look forward to what types of programs, facilities and activities might be wanted or needed. Suggestions for the future have included:

• Refurbishing the basketball court at the Veterans Field

• Creating an “Extreme Sports” skateboarding and bicycle park

• Refurbishing the Volleyball courts at both the Veterans Field and Silver Lake

• Remodeling the Teen/Community Center

• Develop a roller skating facility that could double as a roller hockey rink.

The SBRY is always seeking input from town residents in regard to what types of programs, facilities and activities the SBRY should be working toward or attempting to provide.

We encourage residents to contact the SBRY either by phone, mail or e-mail with suggestions which can further improve the quality of life for Sharon residents.
