
The aquatic program at the Sharon Community Beach is available to all residents of Sharon. The program runs for two (2) consecutive three (3) week sessions. The basic objective is to teach people to swim with a progressive set of skills in a safe environment. In order for each child to succeed in the program, regular attendance is of the utmost importance.
The Sharon Swim Program offers the following courses:
A Basic Learn-to-Swim course, which consists of:
Level I : Water Exploration
Level 2: Primary Skills
Level 3: Stroke Readiness
Level 4: Stroke Development
Level 5: Stroke Refinement
Level 6: Skill Proficiency
Level 7: Advanced Skills
In the past, the Sharon swim program has offered courses such as:
A Community Water Safety Course
A Water Safety Instructor Aide Course
An Infant and Pre-School Course
Adult Swimming Lessons
Lifeguard Training
Should any resident desire one of these courses that have been offered in the past, we ask that you call the recreation director at 364-1400.
If enough community interest is expressed, the SBRY will attempt to find an instructor for the course, or make it a regular component of the Sharon Swim Program.
